The depth of your interest determines the clarity of your vision

I've been thinking a lot about interest and curiosity lately.

It seems that being interested in something is like being hungry for details. When you're interested, you want to know why things work the way they do, so your brain acts like a sort of microscope, allowing you to see subtle details more clearly.

On the other hand, when you're disinterested, it's like seeing life in low resolution, like an 8x8 pixel image. You only see the broad strokes and miss the finer details, making it hard to grasp the full meaning of things. This is likely where boredom stems from.

To truly excel at anything, you need to cultivate interest. It's the knob you dial up to raise your mental resolution. As you become more engaged with a topic, the details become clearer, and the whole picture starts to come into focus.
